The production and broadcasting of the TV series „Recognize Europe" has been completed. The production has been realized in cooperation with ANEM longtime partner - production company A-media and with the support of the Norwegian People's Aid (NPA).

By implementing this production project, ANEM has endeavored to contribute to promoting positive values in our society through short stories on good practice of individuals and institutions in Serbia that improved the quality of everyday life of citizens by following the European standards.

During the six-month long broadcasting, viewers of 27 ANEM TV stations across Serbia have had the opportunity to watch twice a week a total of 50 five-minute long episodes of the series that have brought concrete examples of positive changes in local communities.

Twelve journalists participated in the realization of the series: two from Belgrade and ten from local stations. The series has been recorded at different locations across Serbia with the participation of a great number of interlocutors. The episodes were premierely broadcast in the period from November 2010 till April 2011 on ANEM regional and local TV stations. After their premiere broadcast, ANEM uploaded the selected episodes on its web portal "Bolja Srbija" ("Better Serbia"), enabling a greater number of citizens to see them. The visitors of this portal also had the opportunity to vote for the best story of a previous month.

In the section "Price" ("Stories") on the web portal "Bolja Srbija" ("Better Serbia"), there are 25 out of 50 episodes of the series that you can watch there. On this web portal you can also participate in the last pool related to this series, by voting for the best April story!

The results of the previous March poll showed that two stories were selected as the best: the first story, on regional shelter for abandoned dogs and cats named "Zoohigijena" where you can see how the abandoned animals were treated in Kragujevac and the second story, Voluntary service of the Belgrade Public Communal Company "Gradske Pijace" (City's Markets) that talked about students at the Agriculture and Veterinary Faculties who learn, through the practical work, how to control food quality and safety.

After posting November and December episodes of the TV series "Recognize Europe" on ANEM web portal "Bolja Srbija" (Better Serbia), now you can watch there as well selected episodes of the said TV series aired during January and February 2011! This web portal will also be the place where you will be able to see the most interesting episodes broadcast during March 2011 on ANEM regional and local TV stations across Serbia.

The most interesting January episodes that we have selected for you are:

Visitors of the web portal "Bolja Srbija" ("Better Serbia") also have the opportunity to participate in the monthly polls for choosing the best story of a month. Surveys showed that among the stories aired in November, two have been selected as the best: "Geronto-housewives in Pozarevac" and "Getting a job by being pregnant", with an equal number of votes. The first story shows how the service for assistance in homes from Pozarevac has helped 99-year old granny Olga, while the second tells the story about how the city of Nis has found a model to simultaneously encourage women's employment and fertility. In December, visitors of the portal liked the episode "Park in Kragujevac" the most, a story on how have the citizens of Kragujevac, with small assets, but a lot of good will and effort, turned a neglected city area into a beautiful park. The story "The performances of young people with difficulties in mental development" was voted for the best story in January 2011 and this story shows how, thanks to this performance, the media are more frequently talking about people with disabilities, which contributes to their better socialization and inclusion.

As of December 2010, ANEM web portal "Better Serbia" brings you selected episodes of the TV series "Recognize Europe" that have been aired on ANEM TV stations during November and December 2010. Every following month, the portal will bring new stories aired during the previous month. In this way as well, our association wants to promote good practices of individuals and institutions who have contributed with their commitment to positive changes in our country.

ANEM is pleased to announce its new TV series "Recognize Europe"! 

 

 

 

In November 2010, on ANEM stations across Serbia begins the broadcasting of TV series "Recognize Europe", with the aim to contribute to promotion of positive values in a society. The series is consisted of 50 five-minute long programs with short stories on good practices of individuals or institutions in Serbia that improve the quality of everyday life of citizens by following the European standards and values in their activities. The wide public will be able to recognize Europe more easily through specific examples of positive changes in our surroundings, also to understand better the benefits in life of an individual and society as a whole by moving toward the European Union.

The programs will be broadcast in the period of six months, from November 2010 until April 2011, twice a week on 27 ANEM local and regional television stations. The production of the series involved twelve journalists, two from the Belgrade and ten from local stations. ANEM is preparing this series in cooperation with production company "A - media".

Selected features will also be available on ANEM web portal "Better Serbia", after their premiere broadcasting.

For November 2010, as the first month of broadcasting, we have prepared the following stories:

  • Bilingual education improving the education of young citizens of Milanovac
  • The city of Nis found a model to simultaneously encourage women's employment and fertility
  • How is the assistance for elderly people who are alone and poor, organized in Pozarevac
  • Belgrade social service company "Green and Clean" offers a chance to groups with difficulties to find employment
  • Using the subsidy for self-employment, a young citizen of Zrenjanin started the production of products made of bull-rush
  • What are the benefits of applying HACCP standards in the animal food production in Vranje
  • Training at the Regional Centre for Continuing Adult Education in Kragujevac opens wide range of work opportunities for welders
  • Greater number of underground containers in Belgrade, following the example of major European cities
