Insufficient money for Airing National Assembly sessions

Belgrade, March 23, 2011. (Dnevnik) - The General Secretary of the National Assembly was not able to give a statement on concrete results of talks on broadcasting the Parliament's sessions, with participation of representatives of TV stations with national frequency. He only said that these talks had been "constructive". There were no applications for tender on live airing of the Parliament's sessions, which was closed on March 14. In spite of it, representatives of RTS, Prva srpska TV, TV "Avala" and B92 participated in the meeting organized in the Parliament's building. The invitation for meetings will be sent to the media outlets whose representatives were not able to participate in the said meeting (TV "Pink" and "Kosava")

Odalovic said that representatives of media outlets had listed insufficient funds as high technology-related requirements among the main reasons for not participating in the tender. The procedure is expected to be completed in up to ten days and the amount of funds allocated for this purpose will not be changed, Odalovic said.
