First round table on Draft Media Strategy held in Kragujevac

The debate was attended by the State Secretary Dragana Milicevic-Milutinovic, as well as two members of the working group, PhD Rade Veljanovski and Zoran Sekulic. Over twenty speakers, out of sixty participants, took participation in the discussion.

The greatest interest caused the part of the Draft relating to the ownership structure of the media. Representatives of "Kragujevac initiative" advocated for the formation of regional public services. The working group pointed out that the state proved to be a bad owner and the European standards required withdrawal of the state from the ownership in the media.

The Draft Media Strategy will also be debated in Novi Pazar, Novi Sad, Nis and Belgrade, after which it will be considered whether there are shortcomings in the Draft and which objections and suggestions from the public debate should be acknowledged.
