Markovic: too many outlets, not enough news

Prijepolje, August 3, 2011. (Danas, Beta) - Minister of Culture, Media and Information Society Predrag Markovic said yesterday that "various levels of dissatisfaction" were noticed in the public discussion on the Draft Media Strategy and that they had to be "jointly solved".

"We have to face the fact that we have too many media outlets and not enough news and even less professionalism. On the one hand, we have the state which, according to the Draft, has to step out of the media, but majority of media outlets, especially when it comes to print media, are not in the throes of the state but of the agencies that completely determine the way they should report and be financed", Markovic said.
