National Councils hold monopoly in the media

Beograd, Novi Sad, September 09, 2011. (Politika) - National Minorities' Councils should remain founders of print media in languages of national minorities, but their influence should be reduced to a minimum.

In the open letter of nine Hungarian intellectuals to the Minister Markovic, they pointed out that there is a possibility that the Media Strategy would keep the same solution for national minorities' media as it have been up to now. "That would mean that minority councils could manage these media with a great authority and without almost any responsibility" - it is said in this letter. They offered several solutions for national minority media that should be, according to them, be incorporated in the Media Strategy.
