RBA tolerates TV COMMERCIALS’s terror

Belgrade, February 28, 2012. (Blic) - Even after six years since the Broadcasting Law  and the Advertising Law was brought, citizens are not protected from the arrogant behavior of national broadcasters who continue to harass the audience by broadcasting too long and too loud commercial blocks. TV stations with national coverage, and there are five of them, deem more lucrative to pay 30,000 EUR than to obey the law. Although this behavior could cause taking away stations' license, RBA rather opts to charging penalties.

Only for 2011, RBA has recorded around 2,500 violations of national broadcasters under the law on advertising. Vice President of the RBA Goran Karadzic said that he did not see anything controversial in this issue, since "it shows a good result since the number of offenses is now much smaller than in previous years."
