RBA STATEMENT ON INSIDER
Belgrade, March 18, 2012 (B92) - "With no decision has the RBA banned "Insider" or any other program in Serbia", said in the statement of this regulatory body.
The RBA also stated that Article 10 of General binding instructions for broadcasters' conduct during the pre-election campaign did not apply to news programs, investigative journalism programs or programs of other category that were pre-recorded and planned for broadcasting during the election campaign.
"The RBA Council expects that all broadcasters in Serbia act responsibly in their conduct, in line with laws and general binding rules, in such a way as to contribute to the equality of representation of all participants in the election, as well as timely and truthful reporting in the interest of the public. We call on all broadcasters to contact the Council if having any dilemma, so that we can prevent any situation in which they would have to justify their editorial decisions with wrong interpretation of any legal act", said in the statement.
In its statement, the RBA also requested the apology of all those "who have caused damage to this institution with their arbitrary conclusions and unprofessional approact".
