Serbia to abolish TV fee for RTS

Belgrade, March 30, 2013. (Danas) - The monthly TV licence fee for watching RTS will be abolished and the Serbian public broadcaster will be financed from the state budget over the next three years, reports local daily Danas. According to the newspaper's findings, First Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic decided that public service in the next three years will be funded solely from the budget, after he recently rejected a proposal to charge the TV licence fee through property taxes.
