CEO CHARGED FOR THREATENING JOURNALIST
Nis, September 4, 2013 (Politika) - District Public Prosecutor's Office has filed charges against Milutin Ilic, director of the Public Utility Company "Gradska toplana" from Nis and two of his associates, Dobrivoje Stanimirovic and Mija Jankovic, for allegedly committing a criminal act threatening the safety of a person performing tasks of public importance.
As explained in the complaint, Ilic, together with his associates, allegedly made a number of phone threats to Predrag Blagojevic, editor of the Internet portal "Juzne vesti" from Nis. The threats to Blagojevic were made back in April this year, after the journalist had published the text and information on the corruption and unlawful employments in the public utility company "Gradska toplana". Director of the company and his associates called Blagojevic and threatened him, at which occasion one of them presented himself as "Colonel Dobrivoje", and the other as "Jankovic from the Heating Plant".
Blagojevic had immediately notified the police of the incident and delivered the recordings of telephone conversation, following which, the investigation was launched. At the same time, the City of Nis administration had promised to put a stop to similar incidents in the future and to have Milutin ilic immediately relieved from duty, which has not yet been done until today.
