RBA TO DECIDE ON FREQUENCY ALLOCATION ON 5 FEBRUARY

Belgrade, January 31, 2014 (Novi magazin) - The decision on whether to grant the permit for broadcasting on national television frequency  to Nova.rs or Kopernikus the Republican Broadcast Agency (RBA) will be make on 5 February, reports "Novi magazin". It is the last day for making the decisions on allocation of the frequency.

The RBA has in the first half of 2013 announced a competition for the allocation of a frequency that was previously used by TV Avala when the two television stations applied.
At that time a license was not granted to anyone, because the competition was publicly contested because the frequency was necessary in the process of digitization. The new competition was later announced for frequency that was created from parts of several other frequencies.

As previously announced by RBA , the owner of 100 percent of the capital  in TV Nova  is  Nova.rs  Media Holding Belgrade. The majority owner of the holding with  a 85.1 percent share is the Dutch company BD Media Invest, and the owner of that company is a Dutch company New Amsterdam Cititrust in which 99 percent of shares are owned by a German citizen Bernd Matthias Ditel, and one percent by Ulf Malte Iverson, also a citizen of Germany.
The minority stake in Nova.rs Media Holding company is owned by a production company Vision Team from Belgrade i.e. Dragan Djurkovic with  7.9 percent, while seven percent is owned by GMG Media Group owned by German citizen Ulrich Broke.

The owner of Kopernikus is Zvezdan Milovanovic, who directly has 47.71 percent of the capital and another 47.59 percent through the company Tvinel in Nis of which is the sole owner. The remaining 4.7 percent stake in Kopernikus is owned by Mitra Milovanovic, was published by the RBA after the first competition.

In August of this year the broadcasting licenses are due to expire for other national broadcasters B92, Pink, Happy and Prva, who received an eight-year licenses in 2006. A new competition on which these television stations could renew their licenses should be announced six months before the expiration date, i.e. in February of this year.
