RBA postponed a decision on the allocation of frequency to TV Avala

Belgrade, 5 February 2014 (TANJUG) - Serbian Broadcasting Agency (RBA) in today's session did not decide whether the frequency of the closed down TV Avala will be allocated to TV Nova or TV Kopernikus, as this item was removed from the agenda.

Deputy Chairman of the RBA's Council Goran Karadzic told Tanjug that the item on the allocation of frequency to TV Avala was removed from the agenda and that the decision will be made in the next session.

"We decided to conduct further interviews with the candidates and to subsequently schedule the session at which it will be decided on the allocation of frequency," Karadzic said.

The competition for the national broadcaster, which RBA called in October 2013, was open until 30 December and the only interested candidates were TV Nova and TV Kopernikus.

The licence was not allocated in previous competitions because the competition was contested in the public as the frequency was necessary in the process of digitization.
