2007-2008 PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT YEAR PROGRAM
The U.S. Embassy Belgrade and the International Media Training Center (BBG/NI) announces that nominations are now being accepted for the 2007-2008 SEED funded professional development year scholarship program.
This program is designed to bring up to four (4) young, early-career journalists from serbia to U.S. campuses for a non-credit academic year (one year) of professional development in journalism or mass communication.
The program provides orientation and training in the background and techniques of U.S. journalism. U.S. universities will tailor programs to meet individual needs. Participants will audit courses, receive practical training, visit local media and become thoroughly immersed in American life (BBG has used several universities over the years, to name a few: Oklahoma University, University of Tennessee, Kent State, Arizona State University)
Nominees should have excelent English to allow them full participation in classes.
Selection of participants will be based on the qualifications of individuals nominated and media preferences of universities.
Nominees must agree that families will not be accompanying participants to their university for the duration of the program. No exceptions will be made.
