RECOGNITION OF COURAGE
BONN, May 16, 2002 - Blic News foreign affairs editor Milorad Ivanovic has been named "one of the three most courageous journalists in the world" at the Media and Terrorism conference in Bonn. Over one hundred journalists from all over the world attended the conference organised by the German government and the UN, dedicated to media that fought for justice and democracy. The role of Radio B92 and its director Sasa Mirkovic in Serbia's process of democratisation won praise on the last day of the conference. John Owen of the Institute for War and Peace commended Milorad Ivanovic for his "dangerous and comprehensive investigative project," in reporting on the bank accounts where Milosevic "hid his money."
