"DANAS" JOURNALISM AWARDS

BELGRADE, June 6, 2002 - Radio Free Europe and Danas journalist Mihal Ramac has won the 2002 "Stanislav-Stasa Marinkovic." The award is given in recognition of "courage and special achievements in research and analytical journalism". Nenad Kovacevic, the Danas Uzice correspondent, won the "Nikola Burzan" award for quality of work. Among other things, thanks to his persistence and professionalism, Kovacevic broke the story on the mass grave of Kosovo Albanians in Rastiste before the investigative and judicial bodies. The awards were presented on Sunday, June 9, the Danas anniversary.
