DOS Closes TV Kursumlija

KURSUMLIJA, September 18, 2002 -- Head of the local Kursumlija council Dragan Rajevic has asked Radio Television Serbia to stop allowing "rogue" TV station "TV Kursumlija" from using its transmitter, reports B92 correspondent Ljiljana Danilovic. Rajevic claims that the TV station does not have the necessary broadcasting licenses and is guilty of unbiased reporting. In response, Slavko Savic, director of TV Kursumlija, claims that the Democratic Oppostion of Serbia is trying to control information that it disapproves of , "just like the socialists once did". TV Kursumlija was disconnected in the past by the Socialists. The dispute continues.
