Editor in Chief Refuses to Answer

BELGRADE, October 15, 2002 - Weekly Reporter announced yesterday that its editor in chief Perica Vucinic refused to respond before the court how he obtained the list with 362 policemen and officials who, as participants in Kosovo actions, were allegedly featured on the Hague witness or suspect list, with explanation that the answer to that question would compromise the source and damage the dignity of the profession and the paper. The process in the Novi Sad court is one of the ten processes currently under way against the paper after Serbian Prime Minister Zoran Djindjic and Police Minister Dusan Mihajlovic called on policemen from the list to sue the weekly.
