TV Boss Sacked for Seselj Promotion

SMEDEREVO, October 18, 2002 – The recently appointed TV Smederevo editor in chief Milan Blagojevic has been sacked because, without consulting anyone, he changed the program plan prior to the media blackout in the second round of presidential elections and brought Vojislav Seselj into the studio that evening, even though DSS had previously bought this slot, claimed the new TV director Vladica Novakovic. Blagojevic claims that DSS had not bought the time on air and backs his claims with a written statement from the TV marketing department, adding that this was clearly a staged process.
