Frequency Tender Uncertain

PIROT, December 6, 2002 - Federal Information Minister Slobodan Orlic said in Pirot today that the date for calling frequency applications had not yet been set. “I am optimistic that will happen in October or November 2003," said Orlic. Asked whether it was true that certain television stations, despite the moratorium, had been granted licences, he replied, "No one has frequency permits." “The fact someone is broadcasting today is no guarantee it will retain the frequency after the tender. The only two certain frequencies are two channels of the state television as a public service. All others will have to go through the tender procedure."
