Opacic files suit against Gradjanski list from prison

BELGRADE, 5 June, 2003 -- Nenad Opacic, branded by the police as the main drug dealer in Vojvodina, filed libel charges on Wednesday against Miodrag Nikic, chief editor of the Novi Sad daily Gradjanski list. The charges refer to a Gradanski list article published in April this year which quotes a statement issued by the Novi Sad police department. The lawsuit specifically applies to the first paragraph of the article "Zemun trap in Novo naselje”, which stated that police suspect Opacic, along with a few “of his men”, helped Milan “Jure” Jurisic and Dusan “Dule” Krsmanovic flee Novi Sad following the murder of Velibor Ilicic in December 2000.
