Blic editor fined 50,000 dinars

BELGRADE, 2 June, 2003 – Belgrade's Third Municipal Court yesterday found Blic chief editor Zeljko Cvijanovic guilty, hitting him with a fine of 50,000 dinars in connection with a lawsuit filed by Serbian Government Communications Bureau chief Vladimir "Baby" Popovic. Spin-doctor Popovic filed libel charges against Cvijanovic over an article published in Blic News in July 2002, under the headline “Chief of the Serbian secret police holds the key to the Pavkovic scandal”.
