Hopeful media must state their case for the public

JAGODINA, 9 June, 2003 – Nenad Cekic, chairman of the Broadcast Agency Council, said today that all electronic media companies seeking national frequencies must undergo a special procedure of “public questioning”. In an interview with Jagodina-based TV Palma Plus, Cekic explained that representatives of media companies wishing to be awarded nationwide frequenices would be made to answer a series of questions fielded by Council members in front of citizens. Explaining that final decisions regarding the distribution of frequencies would only be on the Council's agenda at the end of this year, he also insisted that the Council could not guarantee that any existing broadcast company would receive such a frequency.
