Brussels and Washington turning a blind eye
NIS, 9 June, 2003 – Speaking in Nis, Serbian Renewal Movement leader Vuk Draskovic has said that it is incomprehensible “that Brussels and Washington turn a blind eye to the Serbian government’s disastrous attitude towards the media". Speaking to Television Bela Mi last weekend, he continued: "Had the Serbian Parliament and class-associations attacked journalists together with the Interior Ministry during the Slobodan Milosevic regime, the whole world would have been up on its feet”. The author and politician assessed that attacks launched on the media in the present climate are “worse than in the Milosevic era”, which is not exactly a compliment to the incumbent government.
