NUNS presidential appointment overturned

BELGRADE, 26 June, 2003 -- Milica Lucic-Cavic has had her presidency of the Independent Association of Journalists (NUNS) annulled by the Serbian Supreme Court. The Supreme Court overturned the earlier ruling of Serbia's Interior Ministry permiting the registration of Cavic as authorised person representing NUNS. The court made their decision based on the appeal of Sena Todorovic, who argued that there were no other presidential candidates participating in NUNS' electoral assembly, which is a breach of the NUNS statute.
