Reporters without borders annual rankings

BRUSSELS, October 25, 2003 – The international journalist association Reporters Without Borders has ranked Serbia-Montenegro at no. 85 on its latest ranking of freedom of the media in 166 countries worldwide. The ranking is based on a survey of journalists, researchers, lawyers and human rights activists on the basis of 53 criteria. In last year’s survey, the then Yugoslavia was ranked at no. 60 out of 139.
