Journalists dismissed

LESKOVAC, BELGRADE, December 5, 2003 – Leskovac “Staff Radio” programme editor Sava Stefanovic, the No.3 sound technician and one radio anchor were sacked yesterday for “anarchic and irresponsible behaviour, failure to honour working hours and absence from the job”. A statement from the radio said the sacked employees would not receive their salaries or redundancy pay. The statement claimed their work had not been profitable and that the director had been forced to take such measures in order to honour the economic principles of the business.
