Glas Javnosti in court

BELGRADE, December 1, 2003 – The district court in Belgrade began hearing the Serbian interior minister’s suit against Belgrade daily Glas Javnosti on November 27. Mihajlovic has sued the paper, saying it failed to print his rebuttal in the manner stipulated by the Serbian Information Act. His lawyer, Aleksandar Lojpur, said the rebuttal should have been published “without leaving anything out or adding anything”. The disputed article was published on November 2, under the headline “Parliamentary majority protecting Mihajlovic”. The trial resumes on December 3.
