Novosti director hits back at Orlic

BELGRADE, December 1, 2003 – Novosti Company director Manojlo Vukotic has rebutted accusations against him and the company made by Slobodan Orlic concerning recent developments at Belgrade daily Borba. Orlic recently resigned from his post on the Novosti Management Board. Vukotic issued a statement claiming Orlic had resigned on finding out that his departure was on the agenda of the shareholders’ assembly meeting scheduled for November 29. Vukotic also claimed that Borba owes Novosti 250 million dinars (approx. 3.8 million euros). He accused Borba director Zoran Kalicanin of taking 50 million dinars (approx. 760,000 euros) from the Novosti Company, of which he claimed only 2.2 million (approx. 33,000 euros) had been paid back.
