Reaction to Marka closure

BELGRADE, December 12, 2003 – The Association of Serbian Journalists and Union of Serbian Journalists have expressed concern at the closure of Belgrade daily Marka. “The launch of ant new media is a market risk, and we have nothing against it. However, new projects must have an obligation to comply with the law, insist on the signing of individual collective agreements with employees and the honouring of obligations undertaken by the employer,” UNS and SNS said in a statement.
