(Un) truths and video tape

UZICE, February 4, 2004 – TV5 director and editor in chief Predrag Kovacevic has called on the municipal prosecutor’s office in Uzice to return to this TV station as soon as possible a video tape of its show “Contact” which was broadcast live on Friday from 8pm to 9 pm. Danas writes that, on the orders of the municipal prosecutor, the police seized the video recording of this show just five minutes after it ended. The topic of the show was ‘The situation in the Uzice judiciary’, in which the guests – the head of the New Serbia municipal board Zdravko Perendija, representative of the ‘League for Uzice’ association Dragan Vranic and Djakovica municipal court judge and former Cajetina municipal court judge Petar Tanasijevic – strongly criticised the work of the local judiciary, especially District Court president Ljubisa T. Radulovic and district prosecutor Milenko Mandic.
