NUNS slams Belgrade daily Kurir

BELGRADE, January 29, 2004 – Belgrade daily Kurir violated the basic rules of journalism when it published an article and photos on January 28 concerning alleged bank scammer Dafina Milanovic, the Independent Association of Serbian Journalists said today. The professional code of conduct obliges both the journalist and the media to refrain from releasing information that violates individual privacy, said NUNS. Not only does the article “Dafina’s Hell” violate individual privacy, it clearly demonstrates an intention to expose the alleged suffering of Dafina Milanovic to the eyes of millions of people in an almost pornographic manner.
