RTV Indjija suspends broadcasts

INDJIJA, February 20, 2004 – Radio Television Indjija suspended broadcasts on Friday morning in protest at moves to re-elect acting director Zivan Mosic for a third term. “Following indications that councillors at the Indjija Municipal Council sitting on Friday will elect Zivan Mosic as acting director of this media company for a third time in a row, we are forced to resort to this measure,” said Radio Indjija editor in chief Dragana Sorgic. The employees say the law prevent Mosic from being elected for a third term, and point out that criminal proceedings have been launched against for alleged abuse of position.
