Minister: Tijanic Full Of Constructive Energy

BELGRADE, April 2, 2004 – Culture Minister Dragan Kojadinovic has announced three possibilities for allowing the Broadcast Agency to begin work, the worst of which, he said, would be to re-elect the Council. As a second solution, Kojadinovic recommend to the government that the three disputed members of the Council – Nenad Cekic, Goran Radenovic and Vladimir Cvetkovic – be re-elected in the Serbian Parliament. Thirdly, parliament could elect new members to replace those who resigned over the original disputed election. “The first option would mean losing a year or two in overcoming the impasse in the Council, and I’m not in favour of that,” said Kojadinovic. The minister stood by the appointment of Aleksandar Tijanic as new general director of Radio-Television Serbia, describing him as an excellent man for overhauling the state broadcaster. “Tijanic is full of destructive and constructive energy and is an excellent man for the job.” He added that he was certain the authorities would soon track down the killers of journalists Slavko Curuvija, Milan Pantic and Dada Vujasinovic.
