Police-Media Relations

NIS, March 16, 2004 – Nis police general Radisav Gvozdenovic yesterday denied that Serbian Police Minister Dragan Jocic had begun censoring police information, saying he was just “bringing order” to the field. Local media in Nis reported yesterday that Gvozdenovic had been told he could only give out information at press conferences, in a move the media claimed was censorship. “It means that in future we won’t be able to get normal information on whether someone has robbed a kiosk,” one journalist told a local TV station.
