Millions Missing From RTS

BELGRADE, March 10, 2004 – No one at Radio Television Serbia has raised the question of the huge sums of money that went missing under the former regime of Slobodan Milosevic. At the time, RTS directors made huge payments to the DSC Security Company and City Radio, allegedly for copyrights. Between June 28 and 30, 2000, RTS paid DSC 700,000 dinars. A former DSC employee told us that director Vladimir Terzic had asked workers for the personal details and then opened accounts in their name into which RTS paid the money. After October 5, the financial police questioned over 150 former employees of DSC and City Radio, but nothing has come of the investigation. Most of the documentation on the transactions was “accidentally” burnt on October 5, 2000.
