Milic:There Is A Witness Of Slavko Curuvija's Murder
BELGRADE, April 12,2004 – The fifth anniversary of the murder of the journalist Slavko Curuvija was marked on Sunday in Belgrade. Up to now, the public has received controversial information on the results of the police investigation. Minister of Internal Affairs Dragan Jocic pointed out that it was very difficult to investigate and find out who had murdered Slavko Curuvija, whereas his predecessor, Dusan Mihajlovic, in one of his last statements given during his term, said that the police got on the murderer's track. In reply to the question of how far the investigation got, the former deputy of the Minister Mihajlovic, Nenad Milic, in the interview in Radio B92 broadcast 'Kaziprst' says: "I can only say that Minister Mihajlovic's statement is correct. Indeed, I could say nothing more about the affair. I leave that to the head officials of the Ministry of Internal Affairs." B92: They say they have not got sufficient information. Milic: "Well, of course, there is evidence. The case is dealt with neither by Jocic, nor by Milic, nor by Mihajlovic, but by the policemen. If there is evidence –the case will be forwarded to the Court, and if the opposite is the case,it will not, and, unfortunately, that is the end of the story as far as the police is concerned."
