PRIVATISATION IN CACAK

CACAK, February 10, 2006 – The Managing Board, Union and management of the Public Company for Information and Publishing “Cacanski glas” endorsed, in line with the provisions of the law, the plan for change in status of this media company with division and institution of three new public companies. The plan was also approved by the President of the Cacak Municipality Velimir Stanojevic, and will be included in the agenda of the next session of the Municipal Council, scheduled for Tuesday, February 14. The plan was also accepted by the majority of staffers, although there were some unofficial information that the considerable number of workers were against division and separate privatisation of electronic media. According to the proposed plan, three new public media companies will be instituted – print media “Cacanski glas”, Radio Cacak and TV Cacak. By the decision of the Information and Publishing Company’s Managing Board, the division of assets will be adjusted to the company’s balance sheet for 2005 under established criteria. The newly established media companies would take over the staff from the current IPPC. The list of workers to be taken over will be composed by acting directors of three new companies together with the president of the founders appointed by the President of the Municipality.
