IJAS BLASTS KURIR FOR UNETHICAL STORIES

BELGRADE, July 27, 2006. (B92)- IJAS has criticised the manner in which daily Kurir has used unconfirmed information to create scandals. The Independent Journalists' Association of of Serbia specifically reffered to the story regarding prominent B92 journalist Brankica Stanković, who has received many prestigious awards for her work. In the latest story, Kurir uses Dragan Antić, better known as one of the executives of Slobodan Milošević’s regime, to settle scores with Stanković. “The importance of Brankica Stanković’s work does not need to be explained, regardless of whether people like it or not. This kind of writing would be offensive to anyone, especially when a female is in question, because the most vulgar and pornographic phrases are used, on the front page nonetheless,” the IJAS states.
