MONTENEGRIN JOURNALIST ASSAULTED

BERANE, 2 November 2007 (Beta) - Radio Berane reporter and correspondent for Podgorica daily Republika, Tufik Softić, was assaulted in Berane last night.

According to an unofficial source, two suspects attacked him, though the police did not give any details other than the fact that Softić had been attacked and that an investigation was under way.

A surgeon at Berane hospital, Milorad Bakić, said that Softić had sustained head injuries, including a mild concussion, and was being kept in the hospital for further treatment and tests.
