CPJ CONDEMNS ATTACK ON B92 CAMERAMAN

New York, July 25, 2008 - The Committee to Protect Journalists released the following statement today after nationalists protesting the arrest of war crimes suspect Radovan Karadzic attacked B92 TV cameraman Bosko Brankovic in Belgrade on Thursday, breaking his leg.

“Bosko Brankovic was viciously assaulted right under the noses of police officers who did nothing,” CPJ Europe and Central Asia Program Coordinator Nina Ognianova said. “Serbian authorities must find and punish those responsible for this brutal attack and investigate the apparent lack of police intervention.”
