CONSTITUTIONAL COURT ON INFORMATION LAW NEXT THURSDAY

Belgrade, July 17, 2010 (Politika) - On Thursday, July 22, 2010, the Serbian Constitutional Court will, at its next session, discuss on the proposal for the assessment of constitutionality and legality of the Amendments to the Law on Public Information, filed by the Ombudsman Sasa Jankovic, the President of the Court of Bosa Nenadic announced yesterday. In addition to the proposal of the Ombudsman, the Court shall consider other proposals and initiatives submitted on the said law, said Nenadic at a press conference in the Constitutional Court.

In October last year, the Constitutional Court has asked the Parliament's response to the proposal and initiative for assessing the constitutionality of the law and its compliance with the ratified international agreements. Almost all the provisions of recently adopted law were disputed by the proposal and initiatives of the Ombudsman Sasa Jankovic.
