EDUCATION OF JUDGES IN MEDIA PROCEEDINGS

Belgrade, July 13, 2010 (Politika) - Equalization of judicial practice in the proceedings against the media and harmonization with the European standards is the common interest of the judiciary and journalists, it was concluded at yesterday's meeting of representatives of the Ministry of Justice and the Independent Journalists' Association of Serbia (NUNS).

Minister of Justice Snezana Malovic and president of NUNS Vukasin Obradovic agreed that the rulings of the European Court in Strasbourg were the confirmation that additional training of judges in media cases was required. NUNS and the Ministry of Justice will ensure that the greater attention must be paid to the media laws at the Judicial Academy as well as to studying of the modern European practice.
