PRIVATE MEDIA WITHOUT UNIONS

Belgrade, March 16, 2011 (Danas) - Employees of most private media in Serbia do not have unions to represent them, while employers make decisions solely on the basis of the employment contrast on employees' firing or level of their salaries. According to the interlocutors of daily Danas, organizing through union exists mainly in the state-owned media and they operate under the trade unions of some larger organization, such as the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Serbia, Association of Free and Independent Trade Unions and the Independence.
