DS APPOINTED DESERVING MEMBER AS A MEMBER OF THE RBA COUNCIL

Belgrade, April 6, 2011 (Blic) - The ruling coalition has decided again to interpret the phrase "independent body" in a different way. Instead of appointing Natasa Gospic, a professor active in the field of regulation of electronic communication, who had already been approved by the Parliament, it was decided to hastily repeat the voting in order to appoint a more suitable individual - a lawyer, Goran Petrovic. Of course, he is a member of the Democratic Party. This is happening only few weeks after the visit of the mission of the European Commission. Serbia is the only country in the world where members of regulatory bodies are appointed in accordance with their party affiliation.
