Sandzak municipalities - one broadcasting area

Novi Pazar, June 30, 2011 (Danas) - Bosniak National Council (BNV) in the technical mandate considered the Draft Strategy for the Development of Public Information System in Serbia and sent proposals to the competent ministry. When it comes to the electronic media, BNV deems that, in addition to RTS and Radio Television of Vojvodina, there should be regional public service broadcasters and that six Sandzak municipalities should be one broadcasting area.

According to the Executive Board and the Department of Culture and Information of the BNV,  at least one print media in minority languages should be preserved and project financing of the investigative journalism in the regional or minority languages has to be provided in order to "preserve and affirm the national identities and cultures of minorities in Serbia".

BNV in technical mandate has been insisting for a long time that RTS shoudl iniciate forming of the editorial office and broadcasting the program in Bosnian language. In the letters sent to the Serbian President, competent organs and other state institutions, BNV has defines this issue as an example of „stopping the process of exercising the rights of Bosniaks in Serbia"
