“INSIDER” TO WAIT UNTIL MAY 7
Belgrade, March 17, 2012 (Politika) - The binding instructions of the RBA are the state's instrument for introducing censorship, TV B92 journalist Brankica Stankovic said.
"The binding instructions for radio and TV stations's conduct in pre-election campaign, brought by RBA, is practically a directive ordering everything else in the country to stop for two months", said Stankovic.
Namely, under the Article 10 of these Instructions, "the broadcasters shall exclude documentaries, feature films, entertainment and programs of similar content in which any of the participants in the election process is appearing..."
Author of the investigative TV program "Insider", which falls under the category of documentary, says it practically means that, if these Instructions remain enforced, the new series of this program will have to wait until May 7 to be aired, although the premier broadcasting was scheduled for April 2.
The series of "Insider" is titled "Patriot theft" that investigates the misuse of state budget under the pretence of patriotism.
Article 11 of the same Instructions stipulate that "broadcasters shall exclude journalists and program hosts who are candidates from programs during election campaign".
