B92 FREE BY COURT ON KOVACEVIC’S CLAIM

Belgrade, May 28, 2013 (B92) - The Court of Appeals in Novi Sad has dismissed the charges of the parents of Miladin Kovacevic, which was filed against B92 for "causing them suffering".

The second-instance court found that there was no connection between the published information that was damaging to the reputation and honor of Petar Kovacevic and Branka Kovacevic Prodanovic.

The Kovacevics sued B92 for publishing information in the news that "Miladin Kovacevic had cost the state one million dollars", claiming that they had collected 100.000, while the state had given only 900.000 dollars".

The Court of Appeals found that the article in question had not mentioned Kovacevic's parents, not even suggesting their morally or legally unacceptable behavior or implying anything related to them.
