12 YEARS SINCE MURDER OF JOURNALIST

Belgrade, June 11, 2013 (B92) - Relatives, friends, fellow-journalists will mark today 12 years since the murder of the journalist and correspondent of "Vecernje Novosti" from Jagodina Milan Pantic.

Pantic was brutally murdered in front of his apartment on June 11, 2001, and the murderer has not yet been discovered.

President of the Commission for the investigation of the murder of journalists Veran Matic said that the case of Milan Pantic was in the focus of the working group lead by Dejan Puric from the Criminal Police in Jagodina.

"What is important in this case is that we have some evidence that has led us to some new directions in the investigation", Matic said. "The investigation has also included the Interpol, as well as legal assistance of some other countries, so, everyone is taking this case very seriously."

Commemoration will begin at 11 am at the City Cemetery in Jagodina.
