ASSISTANCE FOR MEDIA OUTLETS IN 2014 AS WELL

Belgrade, December 28, 2013 (Danas) - During the New Year's reception for media the Subotica Mayor Jene Maglai announced that, due to the difficult economic situation in the society, the local self-governments in the coming year will provide financial support to media outlets in Subotica.

"I am aware that today many media outlets cannot survive without the assistance of local self-government, and this is why the leadership is trying to help all the media outlets in Subotica on equal terms , or by using equal criteria.

"I hope that the media coverage continues to be true, accurate, objective and timely, as it is in the interest of the entire community," the Mayor said, promising that his office, and the office of the President of the Assembly will always be open for media and all the information necessary for the Subotica public will always be available for citizens.

President of the City Assembly Radmilo Todosijević noted that the media outlets are expected to be "objective critics, analysts and advocates of progress in the field of information in the coming information age."
