VOJVODINA SEEKS EXCEPTION FOR MINORITY BROADCASTERS

13. 02. 2014 (RTV) - The Government of Vojvodina assessed today that electronic media outlets broadcasting in the languages of national minorities should be exempt from privatization.

According to a statement from the meeting, "The Government of Vojvodina adopted a view at its meeting today that it still asserts the position that radio/television stations and other electronic media which broadcast programs in the languages of national minorities should be exempt from the process of privatization".

Representatives of the Government of Vojvodina have repeatedly pointed out that the privatization of these media outlets would led to their closure.
