Vojvodina TV host withdraws citing boycott

20.3.2015. (Tanjug) - BELGRADE - Danica Vucenic, host of the Radio and Television of Vojvodina (RTV) political discussion show, has decided to quit journalism claiming she was boycotted by government officials and therefore unable to pose questions important for the public.

Vucenic is the author and host of the flagship show Jedan na jedan (One-to-One), which was aired for the last time on Thursday.

"Since the moment when I hosted (former political talk show host of TV B92) Olja Beckovic (late in September 2014), government officials have refused to come to my show. I see that as a boycott," Vucenic said for Belgrade daily Danas.

Vucenic said that she has become aware that she will not have the opportunity to host anyone from the ruling Serbian Progressive Party (SNS), and that therefore she has been pushed into one-sidedness.

Zoran Babic, head of the SNS parliamentary group, stated for TV Pink on Thursday that his party has not boycotted Vucenic.

Babic said that the SNS respects the media and the room that has been made for political viewpoints and the work of the Serbian government.

The SNS has not boycotted any media or individual, while it holds Vucenic in considerable respect, Babic stressed.

He noted that last year he was a guest in Vucenic's show three times.
